Makes caring about schoolwork nearly impossible. Because I already know, once I’m done with being a ‘student’ I’ll simply take on more hours at my current job or in a wildly unlikely event get a entry position into my desired career. IT employment is booming, relatively, but is trying to superfluously provide for just myself in this zenith of global paradigm shifting really what my priority should be? I’m lucky enough to be alive at one of the most critical times in the history of my species and somehow all those echoes of authority in my head make me vaguely feel like a failure by choosing to value civilization over a selfish journey to accumulate the most currency possible.
Let’s allow some candor here; Everything I’ve been encouraged to do by ’the system’ (if you don’t know what I mean please contact me about this) is not in my, or anyone’s, best interest and was simply designed to get me to passively accept a ‘Brave New World’, ‘1984’, whatever you wish to label or envision this overhaul of individual liberty-robbing corporo-governing future as.
I picked up on enough clues to decide to drop out of VCU’s Engineering program, preventing me from being in roughly 3 times the student debt I will be in when all’s said and done. What about you? how many instances of law enforcement brutality against innocent civilians, statistics of failed banking-system being in bed with the federal government (bailing them out for more than either our total GDP and national debt!), information on exactly HOW epic of a wealth disparity there is among industrialized & corporatized nations (riots in london, etc).
The time of tribe v tribe is over. It’s time for our tribes to unite and become citizens of Earth; We/I’ve had enough of being taught to play into a system of propogating a mentality of separation and selfish competition. Stop listening to those who tell us we are divided, different, or otherwise at odds.
Wake up. Be the change. Don’t unwittingly put the shackles on yourself.
